2006 IAU Speech Claim

Korff Klaims

Korff made a claim (on the web and in e-mails to Tina) that he was invited to give a speech (and then agreed to give a speech) at the International Astronomical Union conference held in Prague from August 14 to 25, 2006. Korff posted this image on his web site to support this claim.

As you can see, the organizers put up a public microphone to give ANYONE the opportunity to ask a question, make a remark, etc. This event was opened to the public and Korff attended as a member of the press (The Prague Post). In Korff's mind giving public remarks mean the same thing as being asked to give a speech. We checked on this claim and based on the way Korff positioned his claim, he is lying, again.

A man named, Kal K. Korff, is making a claim that he gave a talk, or a
lecture at an International Astronomical Union conference held in Prague in the mid 2000's, maybe 2006'ish?

I was hoping you could assist me in confirming that Kal K. Korff did
indeed give a speech at this event. If you can not, do I need to send my question to some one else?

Most Sincerely,

Ian Corbett ~ icorbett@eso.org

We have no record of Kal Korff ever giving a talk at an IAU meeting.

Korff Confabulation

February 26, 2012, Korff posted a long rant regarding his claim that he "accepted an invitation" and “agreed” to give a short speech at the 2006 International Astronomical Society's conference held in Prague.

This is a very similiar claim Korff made when he claimed that he was invited (at 18 years old and based on your UFO and JFK “work”) to the 1980 World Affairs Council to give a blistering speech about the Soviets, after which G-Men approached him and he began his (still on-going) adventure as a freelance counter-intelligence analyst and fighter of communism.

Let's break down this new post.

Posted February 26, 2012 ~ Part One

At issue here is not if Korff attended the event, he looks like he did, the issue is if Korff was invited to make a speech at the event.

Korff said that he was invited to give a speech and he then agreed to that request. We asked the man in charge, Ian Corbett, and he couldn't find any listing or proof that Korff was in attendance or was ever invited to give a speech at any IAU event, ever.

The photo "seems" to prove that Korff was there, it certainly looks like the auditorium where some the the discussions took place. If Korff did attended, his public remarks he claims to have made didn't register with anyone in attendance or with the press.

NOTE: Korff mentions his Girl-Friday, Martina Tycova. Tycova is not and has never been a journalist in the way Korff is trying to pass her off as. At best Tycova was a web-based writer - author with zero press credentials and zero material presented anywhere but on Korff's own template web site. LINK

Korff states that the names of the press that were in attendance is posted on the internet, they are not. Most of the material has been lost, and the web site hosting the majority of that material is now gone.

We did find some video from the 2006 event

We watch every single second of this video and Korff could not be identified on the video.

This was the session in which the members voted on Resolution 5A: "Definition of ‘planet' " and Resolution 6A: "Definition of Pluto-class objects".

The major question was; should the planet Pluto remain a planet or be re-classified as a dwarf planet or a "pluton" (not as a planetiod as Korff claims).

Korff claimed statement ~ Korff: "Do not define a planet for politically correct reasons, but scientific ones.

One wonders why Korff's statement is not in this video? Also, we found no other remarks in this political vain asked by anyone else. Korff seemed to be the only one concerned with this "issue".

We watch every single second of this video and Korff could not be identified on the video.

We also found 152 photos from the 2006 event. We inspected every single photo and Kalvin Korff could not be identified in any of those photos, even in the press conference photos? ~ LINK

There is no proof of this. The man in charge counters this claim. If this did take place, Korff would have had to of made his remarks on the last day of the 10 conference. LINK ~ LINK

Press: Pluto Vote Hijacked ~ LINK

On August 24, 2006, the International Astronomical Union (IAU) defined what it means to be a "planet" within the Solar System. This definition excluded Pluto as a planet and added it as a member of the new category "dwarf planet" along with Eris and Ceres. After the reclassification, Pluto was added to the list of minor planets and given the number 134340. A number of scientists hold that Pluto should continue to be classified as a planet, and that other dwarf planets should be added to the roster of planets along with Pluto.

Korff did not agree to give a speech. Korff may have made remarks as a person from the general public or possible as a memeber of the press but he was never asked to give a speech or remarks.

Korff did post the video still (above) in the past. Korff has never posted any personal video or addtional stills.

Korff gave some "remarks" at the public microphone only. Korff has never released any material regarding his claim that he interviewed all the top scientists in attendance. Korff has made similar claims before. ~ LINK ~ LINK

Korff was not giving a speech, he was remarking on the subject and he had a point of view he wanted to convey to the members of the union. Nothing more.

As is always the case with Korff and his claims, he could very easily prove this claim by posting his photos and video material. But, much in the same way that Korff refuses to share his early press clippings and any locations and names associated with the majority of his claims, Korff places his friends on Facebook in the same category as his "kritics". This type of behaviour calls into question any claim Korff makes without the accompanying and verifiable evidence to prove that claim.

Korff thinks he's being clever by hiding his evidense. What Korff fails to understand is that by doing this, is he's adding to his confabulations and to his very long list of assumed lies and confirmed lies.
